Playstation 4: What You Need To Know Heading Into Launch Day

The launch of the Playstation 4 is getting closer and closer. The Playstation 4 has some serious power underneath its hood. With its single chip x86 AMD Jaguar processor which has 8 cores. A phenomenal 8gb GDDR5 RAM will make it run faster than the speed of light. But let’s forget these technical specs, we know this console is a beast. But let us focus on what is really important and that is what you can get on launch day.

Console Bundles

You of course can pick up the console for £349.99 in the UK and $399.99 in the USA, but of course what fun is just buying the console on its own? This is a little look at some of the bundles available on launch day.

Killzone Shadow Fall Bundle: This bundle is really cool as it is an “official” bundle that is available. You get the console, controller and everything else that you would expect, but you also get a copy of the awesome looking Killzone Shadow Fall game as well. This is the only bundle that comes packed all together in a box.

If you want to spend a little extra you can buy a bigger Killzone bundle that also comes with an extra controller and the Playstation 4 camera. This can net you savings of up to £70 and $70 depending on where you order from.

The same is true of the Knack and Battlefield 4 Launch Day Bundles which you can get for a higher or lower price depending on how much you want to spend on extras.

Launch Day Games

Knack: Knack is a great looking 3D action/platform game that is exclusive to the Playstation 4. Many stores both online and out on the street are offering a package deal where you can get the console and a copy of Knack as well. The saving is usually around ten percent of the price of Knack which is pretty good.

Fifa 14, Call Of Duty Ghosts, Assassins Creed IV, Madden 25: These four are just the tip of the ice berg. There are many great 3rd party games that are coming on the Playstation 4 for launch day these four are probably the biggest names. Most stores are offering a deal where they will throw in one of these games again for a saving of around ten percent.

Watch Dogs: Now this one is a bit of a downer. Many people had pre ordered a Playstation 4 bundle that came along with a copy of Watch Dogs. Watch Dogs was one of the most anticipated games this holiday season, but Ubisoft have decided the game needs a little more work and as a result it will not be out until 2014. Most stores though are still coming through for people who pre ordered by offering a different game or just the console its self.

The DualShock 4 Controller: What is a new console without a new controller?

The Playstation 4 is giving us the DualShock 4 which features a touch pad, a share button and motion controls just to name a few of its features. A DualShock 4 is kind of pricey coming in at around £55 in the UK and $60 in the USA. For those of you looking to spice things up you can get the controller in blue and red as well as the standard black.

The Playstation 4 is looking like it could be the king of this upcoming console war. On launch day there is more than enough to keep you happy for a while. Pretty much any game that is available you can get somewhere in a bundle so make sure you shop around to ensure you get the best deal.
